Nicole Mo
Nicole Mo is a young fashion designer who recently showcased her collection at the Vancouver Fashion Week. She was born in Suzhou, China. The town is famous for its beautiful Chinese gardens, delicate historical houses and bridges, and silk embroidery art. Throughout her childhood, she was deeply in love with Chinese painting and became a talented artist in her own right. Her paintings received awards in national painting competitions, and were exhibited in Spain when she was 13 years old.
Nicole travelled to Canada when she was 16 years old and her love for creative art continued. After achieving a bachelor degree in Mathematics and Statistics at Simon Fraser University, followed by three years of working in a flight training school, she decided to pursue her dream of being a fashion designer. As a fashion design student at LaSalle College Vancouver, she was one of the Dean’s honour students and on the President Honour Roll for her work ethic and professionalism. She also worked as a fashion tutor in LaSalle to help other students improve their academic grades.
As a designer, Nicole always gets inspired by traveling. She likes hiking and camping in the woods. Her favourite spot is the campsite beside the ocean in Tofino. The long drive with music, the connection between people around the fire pit, the fresh smell after an unexpected rain, and the clear sky of stars are her muses. She never stops experiencing the beauty of Mother Nature. And she never stops being a creative designer.
